6th Annual Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Family Walk
All are welcome to participate in this special evening of love and remembrance. Our 6th Annual Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day is a day for all grieving parents to be surrounded by love and support from their friends, family, and community. It’s a day to heal and to unite in a community, knowing that your pain is not alone. It is a day to remember those lives lost too soon, no matter how far in pregnancy you were. Community Roots Collective invites your family and friends to spend this special evening with us in remembrance of these souls. We will gather at Plant Park in the University Of Tampa Campus for a 1-mile family walk along the beautiful Hillsborough River. You are welcome to create and carry a sign to bring awareness to the 1 in 4 affected by a loss. We will have snacks and water, a community art project for remembering our babies, musical accompaniment, and families sharing their stories. Each attendee will go home with a seed card to plant. We will finish the night by releasing flowers into the river at sunset to the beautiful music of a local artist.
Children being worn or pushed in strollers are free to attend; all others must purchase tickets. This walk acts as our largest fundraiser, and all proceeds allow us to keep all of our services donation-based to ensure that families of all walks of life have access to quality resources and programming. Please stay tuned for more schedule details and updates.
We are currently accepting sponsor requests! If you would like to become a sponsor, contribute by speaking or provide in-kind support to our organization, don’t hesitate to get in touch with Amanda Ruiz at communityrootscollectivetampa@gmail.com
